Casa La Huerta - The Orchard House

Welcome to Casa La Huerta! This authentic, Northern New Mexico-style adobe home hosts guests in the residential Rio Grande district of Albuquerque’s North Valley. Leave the car behind and walk to local favorites like Flying Star Café – an eclectic eatery with something for everyone.

Enjoy outdoor spaces at the front and back Casa La Huerta, overseeing 1/3 of an acre with native landscaping and scented by sunflowers, lavender, and our small fruit orchard. When they’re in season, feel free to step outside and pick fresh fruit from the trees!

With its single level, no stairs, and senior friendly bathroom amenities, Casa La Huerta is especially popular with our retirement age guests.

Interstate freeway access is quick and easy here. Enjoy a quiet neighborhood that’s nevertheless conveniently located to many attractions of greater Albuquerque.

Walking paths, orchards, lavender fields, wine vineyards, open spaces, and horseback riding await you. Don’t forget to bring your bikes or hiking shoes: This area is a cyclists and walkers’ paradise!

"We have rented homes in Portland, Austin, Mexico, Chicago and many more places. This was by far one of my favorite home rentals! There is good reason why this home has such high ratings and such wonderful reviews! As soon as we pulled up, I smiled from ear to ear! Upon opening the front door, we were immediately impressed with the “slice of paradise” that we had found in Albuquerque and we were so happy that we had the WHOLE week to enjoy it! Every detail you can imagine had been thought of here! Michael was a wonderful and very gracious hostess. And if the gorgeous property was not enough to drop my socks, we were greeted with a bowl of freshly picked peaches & plums from the organic fruit trees that are growing on the property that Michael had picked for us that day! Yum! Yum! The layout of the home is perfect and the outside courtyard areas are simply amazing! There is the perfect outdoor spot for sun, fun & shade throughout the day. We loved our morning coffee time and our late night dinners or wine time outdoors. The location of the home is wonderful! Yes you can walk to breakfast or purchase all of your healthy grocery goods at the local co-op just a short distance from the home. We loved the close proximity to the walking/biking & running trails along the Rio Grande and enjoyed a long morning walk most every day of our stay! We would rent this home again! Do yourself a favor and stop looking at other properties because you have already found the perfect vacation home. This was truly a “slice of paradise” in Albuquerque. VRBO Review - Susan R. - August 2017

"We were looking for a vacation rental that had that Southwestern adobe look and feel. Casa La Huerta turned out to be the perfect place. In addition to the classic feel of the region, Casa La Huerta had everything our family needed: a beautifully landscaped yard where our children could play outside, a quiet neighborhood that gave the house a very private feel, and a clean interior with many skylights to bring in natural light. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped. The shower had plenty of hot water. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the patio and having breakfast as a family in the morning, the mountains on one side and hot air balloons rising above the horizon on the other.  The best way to rate our stay would be to say that when we left the kiddos were brokenhearted. We had to promise to come back to Albuquerque to stay in Casa La Huerta again soon."
