"An older home modernized just enough to retain its character and be very comfortable at the same time. Set on a large lot with a private parking area and wonderful outdoor landscaping and spaces. Comfortable bed and very well equipped but not cluttered kitchen. Host meets you at property to make sure you are properly oriented, which is a nice touch. This is a "do again" VRBO for me."

"We enjoyed our stay here so much! It was a cozy New Mexican home. We felt we could stay there forever. There were so many extras, such as a Kitchen Aid mixer. The outside was just a beautiful space to relax. Stay here and you will be happy you did!"

VRBO Review - Amy A. - April 2021

"Wonderful Escape!

Casa La Huerta is a perfect home away from home. We booked 35 nights here last January, not knowing we would be escaping a polar vortex and record snowfalls in MN this winter. The weather while not balmy during Jan-Feb of this year, was beautifully sunny and mild. The Orchard House is everything as it appears online. Clean and comfortable. The property is beautifully landscaped with apricot and apple trees, native plants, rock, and a view of the Sandia Mountains from the backyard. The property is centrally located near the Rio Grande on the northwest side of ABQ.  Michael provided us with restaurant suggestions, coffee houses and points of interest. We explored museums, botanical gardens, the zoo, aquarium, shopping malls, flea markets, Historic Route 66, Old Town and Petroglyph National Monument. And, oh yes, that fun day at Isleta! Casa La Huerta will always be a wonderful memory. Thank you Michael and Peter."

VRBO Review - Thorne H. - February 2021

"We have rented homes in Portland, Austin, Mexico, Chicago and many more places. This was by far one of my favorite home rentals! There is good reason why this home has such high ratings and such wonderful reviews! As soon as we pulled up, I smiled from ear to ear! Upon opening the front door, we were immediately impressed with the “slice of paradise” that we had found in Albuquerque and we were so happy that we had the WHOLE week to enjoy it! Every detail you can imagine had been thought of here! Michael was a wonderful and very gracious hostess. And if the gorgeous property was not enough to drop my socks, we were greeted with a bowl of freshly picked peaches & plums from the organic fruit trees that are growing on the property that Michael had picked for us that day! Yum! Yum! The layout of the home is perfect and the outside courtyard areas are simply amazing! There is the perfect outdoor spot for sun, fun & shade throughout the day. We loved our morning coffee time and our late night dinners or wine time outdoors. The location of the home is wonderful! Yes you can walk to breakfast or purchase all of your healthy grocery goods at the local co-op just a short distance from the home. We loved the close proximity to the walking/biking & running trails along the Rio Grande and enjoyed a long morning walk most every day of our stay! We would rent this home again! Do yourself a favor and stop looking at other properties because you have already found the perfect vacation home. This was truly a “slice of paradise” in Albuquerque. Casa La Huerta - The Orchard House."
